I think Cartoon Network is selling "The Powerpuff Girls" to The Hub, because Butch Hartman is creating its new re-boot of one of Craig McCracken's original shows, "The Powerpuff Girls".........The show will first premiere as its 2-hour, 4-part animated made-for-TV movie in January 2014, and then being spun-off into its full TV series around July 2014, only on The Hub!!!!!!
No, we definitely would have heard about it by now.
In order for a show to succeed, people have to know about it. An online rumor will not garner attention from the target audience that a reboot PPG would have. Cartoon Network has to advertise the shit out of a new series and even then it might not get good ratings and end up cancelled.
I don't know, part of me would love to see new PPG episodes and finally see the Powerpunks on TV and everything, but not if it's going to be done this way T.T
If this really was to happen (which I doubt) I would at least give it a chance since Craig McCracken would be supporting it and working on it, but it just sounds like it's going to end badly T.T These kinda things just seem to end badly...
Actually, Lauren said neither her, Craig, or Butch are working on it. We still don't know who is, but me and my partner are working to figure this out. We are searching the Internet and aren't stopping until we find the truth. So if it is, and I have a feeling it is, it won't be done by Butch Hartman. Butch Hartman couldn't do a female character to save his life anyway.
Given that information, that does speak in favor of this post being real. But nonetheless, I still won't believe it unless there's an *official* release.
Oh, and I forgot to say:
I like Butch Hartman. I like Craig and Lauren. I do believe a PPG reboot would at least be interesting, if a bit unnecessary. As a team, I believe they could make some excellent work (considering the first few seasons of PPG and FOP). But I still don't think this is happening.
And if it was -- I WILL BE SO PISSED I'M NOT INVOLVED.
Totally think it's false. You don't get that much of information, especially six months ago. I'm also pretty sure Nick has some sort of copyright of Hartman's style. There's also no way Hartman would have time with Tuff puppy and Fairly odd parents. The complete lack of mention of Tuff puppy but the mention of MLP:FIM is also suspicious. All those posts are just the same information in different form. Cartoon Network wouldn't keep this kind of thing underwraps, especially if it was a 'grittier' reboot. PPG was a cash cow, and they would have posters and designs out for that pilot. Actually, a two-hour pilot is ridiculous, that almost confirms it's not true. It would take way longer than a year to make that, and the post say McCracken is just about to meet Hartman.
It would be kind of interesting to see a reboot. I don't think They would be able to mix elements of PPGZ and PPG, then they would need so much more approval. Not to mention it would prpbably be awful if Hartman was involved. Classic FOP was great but his stuff in the past two years has been pretty bad. Nick and CN has really been going down in Quality. Thank god for 'oldies' channels like Boomerang and NickToons.
I'll admit, I was freaking out when I first read this a couple of weeks ago, but now that I've calmed down and actually thought for a bit, this is not true! First off, why are there EXACT dates? I can understand rough dates, like September 2012, or something like that. But exact dates this early (even dates that show the exact day the DVD release will come out (a year later, mind you)), I don't believe it. Another thing is why would they bring characters from the anime to the cartoon? Not everyone has even seen the anime. It would seem too random and too out of place to do that. So...yeah, that's all I have to say about this.
They couldn't... They wouldn't.... Please, dear sweet Jesus, don't let them do this at all. Why would they do that? This better be a twisted joke. Espesically the new animation. Why would you destroy the animation of the original PPG. Shame on you, McCracken, or however you spell your name.
Geez, they love killing childhood. I mean, I like Butch Hartman, since he made Fairly Odd Parents and Danny Phantom; but it will never amount to the original. They're probably just going to make it stupid and boring like they did to the new Scooby Doo and Looney Tunes show.
Since when does it need a reboot? It needs reruns again that would be spiffy...As for why it might not be true, the date and everything sounds realistic to me, what doesn't sound real is the writer getting on about how they will have the ears from one show and the eyes from another and the feet from another. Add to that the writers fandom like focus on what the RRBs will be like to an PPGZ level with other elements from the anime and I don't think it rings true :\.
If they are going to redo the real show I can't see PPGZ getting that much weight to the remixing, I would think something or someone would have to get the okay from whoever owns PPG right now besides.
Still. as far as there being a new series at all, it wouldn't be the first time I heard of one two or so years before and a page on the internet filled in the details with whatever they wanted to happen because they know as little as we do at the moment
